Abstract

The focus of the study is to understand the point of view of undocumented college students in regards to immigration reform. The project begins with a comprehensive study of immigration reform and the development over time, and theory that has been put forth by immigration scholars. The interviews try to reveal the difficulties these students face in their attempts to acquire citizenship or change their status, as well as the barriers they encounter in pursuit of employment in the highly skilled labor market. Furthermore, the project required of the sample population that was interviewed to express how they perceive themselves in the context of American culture, society, and politics to reveal their intentions for future immigration reforms.
