Abstract

This paper will use testimonial evidence from the people I interviewed in Rwanda and examine the question: What is the status of recovery and reconstruction in Rwanda since the genocide? In order to answer this question, I will first start out by providing a historical analysis of Rwanda, politically, economically and socially. Then, I will highlight both the achievements and challenges in Rwanda from a political, economical and social perspective since the genocide. I will also weigh in on the Gacaca courts and the work of nongovernmental organizations
