Abstract
Morgan Beckwith designs an internship with Mystic Ballet in order to study the life of dancers in the professional field. In doing so Beckwith grasps a larger understanding of the disadvantages and benefits of working with a small contemporary ballet company. By analyzing this information in conjunction with the goals of the SMU Dance BFA program Morgan hopes to spark an interest in an updated exit strategy for SMU dancers wishing to pursue a fulfilling career in dance.
