Abstract
Prior to directing the Penn State University Press, from 1989 to 2009, Sandy began as copyeditor and ended as editor-in-chief at Princeton University Press. He has served on the copyright committee of the Association of American University Presses (AAUP), from 1972 to 2015, where he served as chair of that committee for twenty-four years and was also president of the AAUP from 2007-2008. Sandy has served on the copyright committee of the Association of American Publishers since 1974 and currently serves on the board of directors of the Copyright Clearance Center, a position he has held since 1992.
