Abstract
Sourcing to foreign suppliers is discussed in the context of overall company strategy and criteria are suggested for analyzing the advantages and disadvantages that must be weighed in sourcing decisions. Particular attention is given to going beyond the cost criteria to examine risks and unforseen future needs for skills.
