About the Conference
The SMU Human Trafficking Data Research (HTDR) Project Team welcomes you to the 2025 SMU Human Trafficking Data Conference on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) on Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 10, 2025. This year’s conference brings together national and international researchers, practitioners, law enforcement and governmental officials, nonprofit organizations, survivor leaders, data scientists, and other stakeholders who value the quality, availability, and efficacy of human trafficking data. It is a time of sharing information about data (availability, efficacy, needs) and data research techniques related to human trafficking through presentations, breakout and networking sessions, and lunch discussions.
The conference theme of Strategies for Effective Human Trafficking Data is supported by the SMU Human Trafficking Data Research (HTDR) Project’s mission to Make Human Trafficking Data Work. This event will be a vital opportunity for connecting, information sharing, partnership building, and networking opportunities for future collaboration involving the many diverse aspects of human trafficking data.
The 2025 conference presentations will have a narrower focus to pinpoint:
